“Restoring The Dream 2014″ to Reflect on Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Thursday, Aug. 28 will mark the 51st anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech.

Here in New Brunswick, City residents and New Brunswick City Council members will gather at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24 at Abundant Life Family Worship Church, 259 George St., for “Restoring the Dream 2014,” a program reflecting on the legacy of Dr. King and recognizing local residents who have contributed to the civil rights movement.

They will then march to the corner of Sandford Street and Joyce Kilmer Avenue for the dedication of a street corner named in Dr. King’s honor.

The program is open to all.
