Mon. April 21, 2014     Make Your Storefront Look Great Day -Businesses do their part by removing litter & cleaning up                                        to24” into the street. Washing sidewalks, removing graffiti & cleaning windows.                                      

 

Tues. April 22, 2014    School Kids Sweep Up Day

 

  5th graders from select City schools will clean up litter at

 

  school & in the neighborhood surrounding the school. Students

 

  will be educated about litter and how their actions can help

 

  protect the environment. Students will then participate in a    

 

  Clean City Celebration and play in the Slam Dunk the Junk     

 

  Basketball Tournament. 

 

Wed. April 23, 2014     It’s Earth Day at DPW -  Residents can drop-off paint, paint related items, TV’s &

 

                                   Computers for recycling at DPW from 9am-2pm.  Residents can

 

                                   pick up 20 FREE biodegradable leaf bags per property.

 

                                   Residents can take FREE compost & mulch while supplies last.

 

 Thurs. April 24, 2014 Tidy-Up Thursday –  Non-Profits & Houses of Worship do a quick pickup of litter ontheir own property.

 

 Fri. April 25, 2014     Flower Up Friday

 

                                The first 200 New Brunswick residents can pick up2 FREE 4-packs of annual flowers at Livingston Park Nursery   

 

                                near Livingston Avenue at 1036 How Lane from 8am-6pm.Additional flowers can be purchased for 20% off that day for

 

                                New Brunswick residents only.

 

Sat. April 26, 2014   Large Volunteer Group Cleanup Day

 

                               Large Volunteer Groups conduct litter cleanups at variouslocations throughout the City.

 

Sun. April 27, 2014  Sweep-up Sunday

 

  Residents’ cleanup litter on their own front lawns, sidewalks, curbs & 24” into the street.

 

           Earth Day is officially Tuesday, April 22, 2014.We encourage everyone to celebrate by taking steps to
