Cinco De Mayo Festival

The celebration will begin at 11 a.m. in the New Brunswick Free Public Library’s Community Room with storytelling by re-enactor Domingo Camarillo as Benito Juárez, President of Mexico. Festivities at the library will also include piñata, face painting, arts and crafts.

At 1 p.m., a parade featuring low rider cars will take start at the library and proceed to Joyce Kilmer Park, where there will be variety of food vendors, music and dance performances.

Admission to the event is free and open to all.

Hub City Sounds – Kids Day at the Park

Kids will see the American Repertory Ballet performance of Grumpy Bird and enjoy interaction and some lessons with the performers. After a brief intermission they will enjoy George Street Playhouse’s Educational Tour Program perform their play Peacemaker. Finally, children will get to participate in an “Inside the Actors Studio” event.

Hub City Sounds to End on Fun, Kid-Friendly Note

Hub City Sounds – Rock On New Brunswick!

This weekend of punk music showcases the music of artists who got their start at Rutgers University and in New Brunswick. Don Giovani’s own Screaming Females will highlight the day. Actor/Comedian and New Jersey’s own Chris Gethard will host the event.
