The community of Lincoln Annex School held an Arbor Day celebration on Tuesday, highlighted by the planting of two young dogwood trees.
The dogwoods, a commonly found species of tree in our state, were planted on the Division Street side of school grounds.
Mayor Jim Cahill, New Brunswick Public Schools Superintendent Aubrey Johnson, Rev. Lauren Carrington and City Administrator Daniel Torrisi helped with the planting, along with several of our City Parks employees.
The City of New Brunswick has been a Tree City USA for 34 years, named so by the National Arbor Day Foundation for its commitment to the care, maintenance and prosperity of its trees.
