Help Prevent Drug Abuse During National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on October 27

The New Brunswick Police Department will observe National Prescription Drug Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, October 27, a national event sponsored by the DEA that allows anyone to safety dispose of unused prescription medications with no questions asked.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., members of the public are invited to drop old and unused prescription medications in the New Brunswick Police Department’s Project Medicine Drop drop box, located inside the main entrance of police headquarters at 25 Kirkpatrick Street.

If you cannot make it to NBPD headquarters on October 27, the box is available 24/7 for anonymous drop offs at any time.

The purpose of the event is to provide a safe and secure method to dispose of unneeded medications, helping to prevent the abuse of these drugs. This initiative also protects New Jersey’s environment by keeping these drugs out of landfills and out of the water supply.
