UPDATE: George Street remains closed between Paterson Street and Church Street due to a break in a 16-inch water main on George Street. Church Street also remains closed between George Street and Neilson Street.

Our water utility continues to work through the night to rectify the break. Our goal is to restore full service overnight.

Water remains safe for use at this time. Further updates will continue to be posted to the City’s FB page and website regarding the status of the break, including the time of full service restoration when it is completed.

We appreciate the patience of all community members as we handle repairs and service restoration.

A water main break has resulted in the closure of George Street between New Street and Albany Street today, Monday, January 8.

Church Street is also currently closed between George Street and Neilson Street due to the break.

Residents, businesses and offices in that area may be experiencing low water pressure at this time as a result of the break.

Water remains safe for use at this time. Any boil water advisories will be posted here and made public via the City’s Nixle messaging system, as well as via Facebook and Twitter.

Water Utility staff are on-scene to handle repairs. The time frame for full service restoration is currently unknown.
