Five New Firefighters Join the Ranks of the New Brunswick Fire Department

The New Brunswick Fire Department welcomed five new firefighters to its ranks on November 13.

Joseph Allen, Randall Boyle, Erin Bradley, Nicholas Giannaci and Filiberto Reyes were sworn in by Mayor Cahill and Fire Director Robert Rawls during a swearing-in ceremony at City Hall.

Our new firefighters trained for 14 weeks in the City’s in-house fire academy run by our own NBFD in-house Training Division, led by Lt. Chris Stellatella and Lt. Has Hirya and under the direction of Fire Director Rawls.

Their 14 weeks of training included physical conditioning, classroom sessions and field simulation and exercises, including but not limited to, firefighting, hazardous materials mitigation, motor vehicle extrication, technical rope rescue, confined space rescue, boating safety, certified emergency vehicle operation and incident command. All New Brunswick Firefighters are also certified EMTs.

Nicholas Giannaci has been assigned to the 1st Platoon under the command of Deputy Chief Tom Dubkowski.

Erin Bradley and Randall Boyle have been assigned to the 2nd Platoon under the command of Deputy Chief Tom LoPardo.

Filiberto Reyes has been assigned to the 3rd Platoon under the command of Deputy Chief Dean Wournell.

Joseph Allen has been assigned to the 4th Platoon under the command of Deputy Chief Kevin McCann.
