City ID Program Now Accepting Appointments for ID Cards

The New Brunswick City ID Program is now accepting appointments for residents to obtain City of New Brunswick-issued ID cards.

Adopted by New Brunswick City Council on June 7, 2017, this program is available to all New Brunswick residents age 14 and older.

The program is intended to provide residents with a resource to access City services.

These cards display the cardholder’s name, date of birth, photograph, address and signature and are valid for two years from the time of issuance.

To obtain a City ID card, residents must be able to prove their identity and residency at the time of application. A list of documents that can be used to do so is available here.

City ID cards are $20 per adult resident ages 18 and older.

City ID cards are $7 each for the following residents:

  • Children ages 14-17
  • Senior citizens 65+
  • Veterans
  • Disabled residents

Payment will be accepted in the form of cash or money order.

The program is administered by staff at the New Brunswick Free Public Library on an appointment basis only. Appointments are currently being scheduled for September 25 and beyond.
