Pumpkins in June? Pumpkin peppers, that is!
The New Brunswick Community Farmers Market (NBCFM) is bringing the heat this year with their fresh, local produce and new, Rutgers-bred pumpkin habanero peppers. These will be available later in the summer.
The list of offerings at the NBCFM keeps expanding, from common farm market options like fresh fruits, veggies and pickles to some newer selections like soaps, honey and juices.
There’s always something to do at the NBCFM, too. From the business at the downtown market on Albany Street to the beautiful community and children’s gardens at Jones Avenue, you’ll never be bored or hungry this summer.
And if you’re wondering if the NBCFM is affordable, the answer is yes! When you use SNAP, WIC or SFMNP benefits, the NBCFM will give you back what you’ve spent in “Market Bucks” so you can receive double the fresh foods for you and your family. This means, if you spend $5 at the market, you get $5 back in Market Bucks for a total of $10 to be used on market products.
The NBCFM is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 178 Jones Avenue now through October 28th.
It is open Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 178 Jones Avenue from June 27th through October 31st.
The market is also open Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kilmer Square Park, 108 Albany Street, from June 28th through October 25th.
