The City of New Brunswick is currently accepting applications for school crossing guards.
Applications can be picked up from the Traffic Safety Enforcement Unit on the second floor of the New Brunswick Police Department, located at 25 Kirkpatrick Street, or from the Personnel Office in City Hall, 78 Bayard Street.
Applications may be picked up from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Applicants should be able to stand for at least one hour and have a basic understanding of the English language, as training videos are in English. All applicants will be subject to a criminal background check.
Applicants must bring their completed applications to the Traffic Safety Enforcement Unit with their State ID, driver’s license, and Social Security card. These documents are preferred, however there are other documents that can be provided, which are listed on the application.
The position pays $12.50 per hour for two hours per day of work. Applicants must be available to work for one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon, in all weather conditions.
