NBPD Promotes Longtime Officer to Rank of Lieutenant

New Brunswick Police Department Officer Frank Bertucci was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on January 4, 2016. He is pictured at City Hall with Police Director Anthony Caputo (left) and Mayor Jim Cahill (right).

The New Brunswick Police Department started 2017 off with the promotion of a 22-year veteran of the department to the rank of Lieutenant during a January 4 ceremony at City Hall.

Lt. Frank Bertucci has served with the NBPD since August 15, 1994. Throughout his career, he has served in the Operations unit of the department as a patrol officer and a Sergeant, assisting with the Neighborhood Police Team and the department’s bike patrol.

Lt. Bertucci has also served as a prolific Field Training Officer, having trained more than 30 new officers in police work.

He is the son of the late Sgt. Fred Bertucci who served a career with the New Brunswick Police Department before his retirement.
