Project Move Out is a free bulk waste recycling initiative for Rutgers students living in New Brunswick. Register until MAY 21nd (noon) at http://ruoffcampus.rutgers.edu/projectmoveout.
Rutgers and the City of New Brunswick are once again partnering in Project Move Out, a program to recover discarded furniture, appliances, electronics and textiles in order to keep these items out of landfills and reduce our carbon footprint. Off-campus students living in New Brunswick can register online for FREE curbside pickup of their bulk waste. Project Move Out provides for the collection of bulk items ONLY between May 22-28 OR drop-off bulk waste items May 22, 23, 27 and 28, 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. (no registration required) in designated dumpsters, behind the College Avenue Gym (Rutgers student ID required).
Be part of the solution and register! Collected items will be recycled or transferred for beneficial reuse. Freon will be recovered from appliances to prevent leakage into the environment. Individuals (landlords and tenants) will avoid municipal fines ($150-$2,000) for violations of the New Brunswick trash ordinance. Additional resources and information about disposal of bulk waste is also available at http://ruoffcampus.rutgers.edu/projectmoveout.
